About the Course
This Pre-GCSE group offers a welcoming space for young artists to build creative confidence, develop technical skills, and express their ideas, whether they are studying art for the first time or bringing prior experience. Through a holistic, project-based approach, each student is guided on a personal, tailored journey, exploring a wide range of techniques and materials such as drawing, acrylic, watercolour, printmaking, mixed media, and sculpture. Hands-on experimentation, learning classic and contemporry craft, art and Design skills, and artist research help students discover the methods and mediums that best support their individual creative voice. With no written work required, the focus remains entirely on practical making, visual exploration, and creative risk-taking. Working in a small, supportive group of like-minded, art-loving peers from the home education community, students thrive in an environment that celebrates creativity, individuality, and self-expression.
